Importance of Black box - Airplane crashing

What do you think about the presence of black box in airplane? What's the purpose of it? Why investigators are calling it as black box? Is it black in colour? There are so many questions regarding about black box that comes in our mind. Let we see some of the interesting stuff about these.
Black box is a recording device which helps investigators to find the real situation happens before the airplane crash. It is placed in the tail of the plane where it consists of two recording devices,
1.Flight data recorder (FDR)
2.Cockpit Voice recorder (CVR)
Here the main purpose of Flight Data Recorder is to record the data of the airplane includes speed,height,fuel and engine condition,location,cabin condition etc., which will transfers these data to ATC (Air Traffic Control) department.
Cockpit Voice recorder is a voice recorder majorly helps the investigators to cross-check the conversation held between pilots and ATC department.
A Underwater locator beacon is connected with both recorders which emits continueous beeping sound with certain frequency for every second upto 30 days which may helps investigators to find the black box within 2-3 kms far circumstances and also it works under 14000 feet deep ocean.Coming to its colour, It is not black in colour.
Suprising yes!! It is coloured in bright orange so it can be easily identifiable in crash area or in deep water bodies. Titanium or steel is the comfort material for making black box as it has high shock absorbing capacity which is highly preferable at heavy impact during airplane crash. It is located at the tail to get avoid of major impact on it which might be ease for investigators to find and took action.
